Crime prevention message

To prevent burglaries in Fulham Town, secure your home by locking doors and windows, making property difficult to access, and keeping valuables out of sight. To prevent motor vehicle crime, always lock your car, never leave keys inside, keep valuables hidden, and park in well-lit, busier areas. Use Faraday bags for keyless entry fobs to block signal theft and call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergencies to report crime to the police.

For Home Burglary Prevention

  • Secure your home:
  • Keep windows and doors locked, especially on ground floors and side streets.

  • Control access:
  • Make your property difficult to enter by ensuring windows are secure and burglars have no hiding places.

  • Secure tools:
  • Don't leave tools, such as those used for breaking into properties, in your garden or sheds.

  • Be aware of distraction burglary:
  • Be cautious of people who may try to distract you to gain access to your home.

    For Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention

To prevent motor vehicle crime, always lock your car, never leave keys inside, keep valuables hidden, and park in well-lit, busier areas. Use Faraday bags for key-less entry fobs to block signal theft and call 999 in an emergency or 101 for non-emergencies to report crime to the police.

  • Secure your vehicle:
  • Always lock your car and close all windows when you leave it.

  • Hide valuables:
  • Never leave valuables or possessions visible in your car; remove them completely.

  • Park safely:
  • Avoid dark, secluded areas. Park in busy, well-lit locations or at a Park Mark accredited car park.

  • Protect your keys:
  • Never leave keys in the ignition. Store car keys away from your front door to prevent them being taken through a letterbox.

  • Use a Faraday bag:
  • If your vehicle has a key-less entry system, use a Faraday bag to block thieves from being able to "relay" the signal from your car keys.

  • Be aware of carjacking tactics:
  • In traffic, lock your doors and keep enough space to get out of a tight spot. If you are bumped from behind, drive to a safe, public place before pulling over.

    General Advice
